| Omar continuing with Azad’s Zeal : Tara | | | Early Times Report
Ramban,Jan.10 – While addressing huge and mammoth public rally assembled at Ramban today, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand felicitated UPA Chairperson, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi for taking historical and bold decision of projecting energetic and young leader, Mr. Rahul Gandhi to lead the party. He said strength of Congress lies in strong leadership and ideal vision of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and added that it is the moral duty of all right thinking people of the country to implement her mission and give it practical shape.
Deputy Chief Minister said that all those forces hell bent to divide people in the name religion, region, caste, creed would be given befitting defeat by the mature citizens of our country. He appealed the people to remain vigilant so that these forces are not able to raise their ugly head.
Mr. Tara Chand was accompanied by other Congress leaders including, MLA, Surankote Ch.Mohammad Aslam, senior leader and MLC, Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil, former Minister, Mr. Jugal Kishor, MLA, Ramban Mr. Ashok Kumar, MLA, Banihal, Mr. Vikar Rasool, NSUI, President Ch.. Abdul Rashid and hundreds of office bearers of Congress and youth leaders.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand further said that the people of J&K are witness of the fact that during two and half year’s tenure of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, new era of development, progress and prosperity heralded to the State. He complemented young and dynamic Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah for continuing the same pace of development with added enthusiasm, zeal and gusto.
He said that all round appreciation which the present coalition Government has received for its excellent performance during last one year has silenced all those forces indulging in confusion and hollow slogans. He said that the present coalition Government believes in action and results on the ground. He said that massive ralling and assembling of the people in unprecedented number was clear proof of the hard facts. He said that the majority of the people of the J&K State believe in developmental and progressive approaches and respond the same in equal terms.
Mr. Tara Chand said that the present coalition government is determined to shape the State of Jammu and Kashmir as a Model State of the country which was not only the dream of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Mr. Rajiv Gandhi but UPA Chairperson, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh have practically worked to realize this dream into action with massive financial support and approval of numerous mega schemes for the State. “when all the States of the country got one university, the Jammu and Kashmir was the only exception where two central universities were granted, he said and added that under the able leadership of Mr. Omar Abdullah and with the full support of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Government has also got approved two Ayurvedic colleges.”
He said that in the capacity of Minister for Housing and Urban Development, the new dimension has been given to both cities of our State and we are determined to shape greater Jammu and greater Srinagar equipped with all infrastructure by way of roads, health, education, power and sewerage.
