| Romesh for opening of Jhangar-Mirpur-Kotli Road | | |

Minister of State, PHE, Irrigation , Flood Control, Industries and Commerce Dr. RC Sharma has urged upon the Union Government to open Jhangar-Mirpur-Kotli Road along LoC for adding another link in border districts of Poonch and Rajouri to facilitate union of separated families living either side of the border.
Dr. Romesh today met Union Home Minister Mr. Shiv Raj Patil who is on visit to Valley and presented a Memo of Demands.
Among other things, Dr. Romesh also demanded release of balance amount of Rs. 72 lahk out of the funds provided for the reconstruction of houses damaged during Indo Pak Shelling in Nowshera sector.
The Memo further demands Rs 25 crore package for permanent settlement of the border migrants of Nowsherha sector for which land measuring 410 kanal has already been earmarked. Dr Romesh has also demanded special police recruitment drive for border migrants of Rajouri.
