| Wildlife conservation week concludes | | | Srinagar, October 08 Wildlife Week concluding function was today organized at Hokersar Wetland Reserve Zainkote in collaboration with Youth Hostel Association of India, Jammu and Kashmir. Member for Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and ex-Chief Wildlife Warden J&K Government Mr. R. L. Bharti, was the Chief guest and Chairman Youth Hostel Association of India, J&K Mr. S.P. Verma was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion school children and youth stressed for making awareness campaign about wildlife conservation a mass movement. In his presidential address, Mrs Bharti said that the wildlife has always been an important element of history and human culture. The components of its heritage like plants, animals, herbivores etc. are inter dependant and any attempt to transgress one has hazardous effect upon the other, he added. Appreciating the role of the wildlife department Wetland division for effectively organizing the week, he said awareness campaigns have tremendously helped in disseminating the message of the significance of conservation of environmental in general and wildlife in particular among the masses.
