Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 11 Continuing its anti encroachment drive, the Jammu Municipal Corporation’s (JMC) Enforcement Wing assisted by police personnel today carried out a drive in different areas of city. Led by Assistant Enforcement Officer, the team of JMC conducted the drive at Indira Chowk, BC Road, Jewel Chowk, Canal Road, Akhnoor Road, Shakti Nagar and removed the encroachments made by the shopkeepers and vendors, who had kept the goods on pavements and footpaths. During the drive one truck load of articles including woolen items, pans, weighing scales, benches, stools, counters were seized from these areas. The team also confiscated six Reharis found plying without licenses. JMC has appealed the shopkeepers and vendors to clear the footpaths from the encroachments which cause undue obstruction to the smooth movement to the pedestrians and is also a traffic hazard.
