| Omer’s regime failed to safeguard life and dignity: PDP(Y) | | | Early Times Report Jammu Jan11 Expressing concern over spurt in human rights violations in state since last one year, PDP today strongly condemned the killing of a 11 standard student and beating up to pulp a photo journalist by troopers at Lalchowk in Srinagar. It further has regretted that the Omar Abdullah regime has miserably failed to safeguard the life and dignity of common citizens. President PDP (Youth) Bashir Assad said a radical change of approach to consolidate the reconciliatory process would help to bring complete peace and stability in the State. "Instead of getting bogged down by the vested interests, the political leadership must, with determination, cut through the vicious circle of the detractors and work steadily on the Confidence Building process," Bashir Assad said. Assad called for substantive action on the reconciliatory measures including revocation of AFSPA, reduction of troops, rehabilitation of the victims of violence irrespective of their affiliation, safe passage to the youth who had gone across for armed training and etc.
