| 4 Gujjars still lay buried under avalanches | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 12-Expressing grave concern over the tragic incident of burial of four Gujjars under the snow avalanche at Hyar Nagsani of Kishtwar district, Gujjar Mahasabha J&K Chapter, has regretted that despite lapse of four days the government has failed to launch any rescue operation to rescue the victim. Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal President Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha said that immediately after hearing the sad news swung into action he contacted MLA Kishtwar Sajad Ahmed Kichloo who apprised him that so far no rescue operation has been initiated by the government despite his bringing the matter to the notice of the authorities concerned. Poswal urged upon the state government to remain alive to such alarming incidences. Carelessness on the part of concerned authorities speaks volume of violation of human rights towards hapless Gujjars who even earlier to the said incidence had become victim of snow avalanches. He has invited the urgent and immediate attention of the Chief Minister and other concerned towards the incident and sought rescue operations on war footings by by making use of army helicopters to recover the dead bodies besides providing Rs. 2 lakh exgratia to the next of the kin of the deceased. He said those feared dead in the avalanche included Ghulam Hussain, Ishak Gujjar, Yousaf and Ghulam Hussain
