| Kissan Sabha celebrate 29th foundation day at village Barota | | | Early Times Report Billawar, Jan 12: The Kissan Sabha (KS) founded in 1981 celebrated its 29 foundation day at village Barota in which large number of farmers participated in a day long convention. State president of KS and its founder advocate, Hari Chand Jalmeria who was the chief guest on the occasion in his address expressed grave concern over the extensive loss suffered by the farmers due to failure of last Kharief crop and also to the current Rabi crop due to persistent drought. He criticized the government for not paying compensation to the farmers affected by the drought. He said government is criminally anti-farmers when it failed to provide timely and free seed and fertilizer for the current Rabi crop. He charged the central and state government for pursuing anti-farmers and anti-people policies which have resulted into steep rise of prices of eatables and other essentials commodities beside has made it difficult for the common man to make both ends meet. The government is hand in glove with profiteers, black marketers and corrupt government depot holders charged Jalmeria. Asking the government to explain as to why wheat, atta, kerosene oil, rice and sugar has not been distributed to people residing in rural areas of entire tehsil Billawar for the last three months. Convention also passed the various resolutions at the convention. Among others present on the occasion were Tak Chand, Sher Singh Ishar Singh and Sagar Chand etc.
