| Ruralities of distt Rajouri face shortage of essentials | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Jan 12: Food grain scarcity and drinking water shortage couple with a cold worsens the plight of the ruralities in Rajouri district in general and Kalakote area in particular said former legislator, Ashok Sharma, while addressing series of workers meetings at Rajouri, Sair and Panjah here today. Sharma sought personal intervention of the chief minister Omar Abdullah and ministers for water and food supply to come to the rescue of the people and ensure adequate supply of food grains, sugar, kerosene oil and portable drinking water besides rushing special team for assessing the loss of crop and fodder and to provide compensation to the farmers. He said government should immediately formulate drought package plan and seek a financial assistance from Government of India to combat hunger and thirst of the people living in the remotest areas of the state. Among others who participated in the meetings include, MY Mugal, Wajid Mirza, KL Raina, Ramesh Chander, Sub. Parshotam Lal, Rafiq Bajar and Mulkh Raj etc.
