| Vigilance Wing of CA&PD seizes 79 empty domestic cylinders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JANUARY 12: The Vigilance Wing of the Directorate of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD), Jammu continuing its drive against the distributors of LPG made a surprise check today. While checking M/s Shaheed Udayman Singh (SM) Gas Agency Mishrewala, 79 empty domestic LPG cylinder were in excess. It was found that Rs. 330/- per domestic LPG cylinder are being charged for which he has been booked under the Essential Commodities ACT 1955. All the 79 LPG cylinders have been seized and kept on spurdhnama. In order to ascertain the position of smooth supply of LPG in Jammu Division, a meeting was held in the Office Chamber of Director, CA&PD, Jammu today with Oil companies viz IOCL, HPCL & BPCL wherein the representatives of the Oil companies were asked to explain their stock positions on this behalf. They stated that the short supply was all due to the foggy weather and assured that the position of short supply shall be recouped within next two or three days as they have already augmented the supplies by despatching forty vehicles for circulation in Jammu Division. The representatives of HPCL were also directed to initiate a strict action against the M/s Shaheed Udayman Singh (SM) Gas Agency Mishrewala under Oil companies norms against whom irregularities have been detected by the department.
