| Computer being approved for cooperative revival : Manohar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JANUARY 12– The State Government has submitted a proposal to the Central Government for revival of Cooperative Societies in the State said the Minister for Cooperatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma. The Minister was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Extension Counter at Gurrah, Khalyal in Billawar Tehsil yesterday. He said the Centre is expected to give its nod to the proposal very shortly which will facilitate the farming community to avail credit facilities. The Minister said that with the opening of this branch, a long pending demand of the people have been met and hassle free banking facilities would be available at the doorsteps now. He was informed that on the first day of its opening, Rs. 30 lakhs were deposited in the bank which shows that there was an earnest need of opening of this bank and appealed people to enhance the deposits of the bank to the tune of Rs. 2 crores which will be helpful for converting the extension counter into a full-fledged branch. Dr. Manohar said that keeping in view the needs of other areas of the district Kathua, five more extension counters at Kohag, Banore, Chadwal, Marta Nagrota and Nagri Parole would shortly be opened. Chairman, Jammu Central Cooperative Bank, Mr. Mohinder Singh, also spoke on the occasion and dwelt at length on the facilities and schemes available in the bank for the welfare of people and said that the bank has its own training centre at Jammu which imparts necessary training to the staff and other Cooperative Banks of the State. Vice Chairman, JCC Bank, Mr. Angreezu Ram Sharma, Managing Director, Mr. Arun Bakshi, Members of Board of Directors, District Manager JCC Bank, Kathua, Mr. Janak Raj were also present on the occasion.
