| Water works PHE employees held protest rally | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 12: The Water Works employees of PHE (Mech.) rural division held demonstration under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma President of INTUC to express resentment and anguish over the non implementation of Govt. order regarding minimum wages to be increased from 10 August 2009 at Rs. 110 per day. The workers shouted slogans and termed the non serious attitude and delaying tactics adopted by the PHE authorities, as an undemocratic stop. INTUS President Sharma said the daily wagers, C.P workers and consolidated worker have been deprived of their rights under the wages SRO and these daily wagers are termed as backbone of the department and rendering their service honestly. But govt attitude towards rapidly rising prices of all essential commodities and its anti employees policy of making life of working class miserable. He criticized the PHE authorities to adopted the transfer policy the government has two yard stick for transfer policy for IV Class poor employees in PHE 30 to 250 KMS and PHE department Engineers 3 to 5 KMS. He regretted that mechanism to transfer in PHE department have exploded the myth of Good Governance. Sharma appealed to the both sides Employees leaders come on one platform and wage a united struggle for the common cause and a fight against government anti employees policy.
