| After exam disruption NSF threatens Jammu bandh | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Jan 13
National Secular Forum (NSF) has condemned the authorities of University of Jammu (JU) for launching malicious propaganda against the students and scholars who have been agitating since a month demanding transparency and accountability in the functioning of University.
Addressing media persons, Vikas Sharma, NSF president, stated that the advertisement issued by the JU authorities mentioning “some students with vested interests trying to misguide the other innocent students and the society and their attempt to disrupt the examination from January 14 onwards will dealt sternly.”
Sharma clarified that students are not being misguided but are informed and made aware about the misdeeds of authorities who are themselves indulged in corrupt practices and taking undue benefits at different levels.
He added that NSF with the active support of all other student bodies will go ahead with tits call to disrupt the examination process on the campus if reasonable replies will not be given to the queries of the students pertaining to marks tampering and mass copying episodes. He also sought reply on the decision of University to establish police post on the campus with the help of University.
He, however, appealed the civil society and all political parties to intervene into the matter as University is not a personal property of an individual but belongs to all. He asked the political parties to come out in open in the support of agitating student, failing which the students will concluded that too are dead woods and least worried about the fate of this institution.
He added that if their agitation will fail to yield desirable results, then the struggle will come out on the roads and strike call will be given in the province in which large number of students from all districts will take part and express their strength. He maintained that all the students’ bodies have supported the endeavour of NSF.
Vikram Singh, Rohit Sharma and Sanjay Sharma were also present at the press conference.
