| SPF demonstrate against killing of 14 Sikhs in 1989 | | Demand making Ansari Commission report to public | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 13- Sikh Progressive Front (SPF) held a protest demonstration to commemorate the killing of 14 Sikhs on this day in 1989. Addressing the protestors the SPF leaders said that it was unfortunate that all the Sikh killings took place during the National Conference rule in the state. The failure to prosecute the culprits, both by the state and centre governments, as well as political leaders, leaves an impression that acts of violence and other criminal offences can be committed with impunity and without the fear of punishment, these leaders pointed out.. The protesters also criticized all the successive governments for not making the Ansari Commission Report public and impressed upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to table the report in the state assembly during the ensuing budget session. Failure on the part of Government in this connection will force the Sikhs to intensify struggle and shall gherao Civil Secretariat to seek justice, the Sikh leaders warned. Balwinder Singh of SPF, Varinder Singh from Nationalist Sikh Front, Gurbachan Singh Dutta from National Shiromani Akali Dal, Mohinder Singh from Bhai Kaniya Nishkam Sewa Society, Narvair Singh from Shromani Youth Akali Dal, Harcharan Singh, Sikh Welfare Society and many other representatives of various Sikhs organizations participated in the protest.
