| CIF organises Sadbhavana Mela at Reasi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT REASI, JANUARY 14 : In order to strengthen the relations of Army with the civilian population and in still a sense of confidence in them about the role and performance of Army in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, a Sadbhavana Mela was organised at sports stadium, Reasi by the Counter Insurgency Force (Ultimate) today. The General Officer Commanding of Uniform Force inaugurated the Sadbhavana mela while District Development Commissioner Reasi, Mr. Pandurang K. Pole, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Anand Jain, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, S. Avtar Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, other senior officers of the Army, District level offices, prominent citizens and large number of people also witnessed this mega event. The main theme of the Mela was “Sena Awaam Ke Saath” School children of various schools, presented scintillating enthusiastic cultural programme. The audience were also enthralled by a Band Display and a highly entertaining dog show organised by the Army. A medical camp was also organised at the venue. The Army medical authorities including Lady Medical Officer provided valuable medical advice and dispensed medicines free of cost to the needy people who had travelled from the adjoining areas to seek medical assistance. A weapon and equipment display was also organised on the occasion. The younger generation was especially elated to see the weapons and equipment on display and keenly followed the briefing of the Army personnel in handling of the weapons. The local youth were briefed about various types of entry levels available for them to join Army. Various stalls were also put up by the Army for the welfare of the general public on the occasion Apart from this, the local district administration also organised various stalls of different departments during the Sadbhavana Mela which include Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Floriculture, Sericulture, Indian Red Cross Society, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, J&K Auto Mobiles and various cell phone companies and rendered valuable information to the people.
