| SMM launches “Khadda Bharo Abhiyaan” | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 14 : Apparently protesting against the official indifference, a unique initiative has been taken by the Sanyukta Mahila Manch (SMM) Kathua to highlight the problems of the town after it launched a movement named “Khadda Bharo Abhiyaan”.
The aim of the movement is to fill the pot holes on damaged Kathua-Kalibari road, which is full of unwanted, dangerous and accident causing major pits.
On the occasion, the activists of the SMM, Sushma Avtar, Kalish Kumari, Varinder Kour, Indu Partap, Veena Choudhary, Updesh Andotra, Pinky Sharma, Preeti Sharma and Sunita told media persons that they approached the administration on several occasions concerning repair of the road. But unfortunately, neither any politician nor authorities did anything to repair the main link with the national highway.
The SMM activists said that the countless big holes and pits on the road are causing routine accidents.
The failure on part of the administration to fix the road has forced us to fill the big holes ourselves.
