| Mech Enggs for removal of pay anomalies | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 15
All J&K Mechanical Engineers Association have urged the state government to remove anomalies in grade pays of Junior Engineers by placing them in the pay band PB-2. In a general body meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of RK Kohli, the engineers said that presently they are placed in the scale of Rs 5700-10100 which is unacceptable to them. They demanded that they should be kept in the PB-2 in the pay scale of Rs 9300-34800 which has been accepted and recommended by the Commissioner/ Secretaries of Mechanical, R&B, Hydraulic and PDD wings of the department in its meeting held on June 11, 2009. While highlighting the plight of engineers in general and mechanical engineers in particular, NN Thusu Chairman of the central body, appealed the authorities for regularization of Mechanical Engineers from Assistant Engineers to Chief Engineer level by giving them back date effect, creation of posts from Junior Engineer to Superintending Engineer level in newly crated districts, fixed traveling allowance for Junior Engineers from Rs 30 to Rs 1000 per month, running grades for engineers and filling up of vacant posts of Assistant Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers’ level.
