Acharya Srichander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) Employees Welfare Association unanimously elected Surjeet Singh as its president and Sanjay Sharma as its Vice Presidents for the year 2010-11.
The election result declared by the Returning Officer appointed by the caretaking Executive body of the association which was constituted recently by the approval of its members. The entire election process was supervised by a representative of the Labour office.
After the announcement of the results, the newly elected President addressed the members of the association and thanked them for posing faith on him.
He declared that that an executive council will be formed with the mutual consent of all the members with in a week’s time.
Meanwhile, the other faction of the ASCOMS Employees Welfare Association contested the claims that any election of the association was held and said that duly elected body is functioning for the last five years.
President of the parallel faction LR Singh said that a deputation of Association’s representatives also met with the Registrar Trade Union today and brought into his notice the affairs of the association.
The association alleged that alleged that some non-members are spreading rumours and indulged in illegal activities thereby creating divide among the employees.
