Early Times Report Billawar, Jan 15: To look into the problems of the villagers residing in far flung areas of tehsil Billawar an open darbar was held at village Katli about 20 Kms away from tehsil headquarters by the SDM, RA Inqlabi here today. People from village Bhaggan, Marhoon, Malhar, Deota, Dhardungnoo, Malad, Sudag, Palar, Kaloga, Chuwari and Thathru participated in the Darbar and express their demand. Villagers demanded free ration supply atleast for six months as the crop fails due to drought. Further they also demanded providing of electricity, drinking water to the uncovered villages. Mettling and blacktop of road from Billawar to Katli at the earliest, while people of Malhar demanded that road connectivity be given to them at the earliest. The people also demanded construction of tractor roads, bridal paths and water tanks under NREGA scheme. Further people demanded a branch of bank should be open at Katli so that they shall not face difficulty in receiving the payment under NREGA. The tehsildar Billawar Jivan Lal, BMO Billawar Chaman Lal, deputy director sheep husbandry, Dr. KK Parotra, BDO Billawar Sunil Sharma, BDO Lohai Malhar Ajeet Singh, CDPO Billawar Parvesh Sharma, ZEO Malhar Mohd. Hadi, AEE PDD, AEE Irrigation and flood control, Tara Devi TSW Billawar also participated in the meeting, Puran Chand ex-sarpanch Malhar, Milkhy Ram ex-member panchayat, Subash Chander, Mushtaq Ahmed and Wani of Malhar also spoke on the occasion. SDM assured the people that their genuine demands will be highlighted to the higher authorities and issued the instructions to the concerned departments for redressing the grievances of the people immediately.
