| Multi-crore New Jammu scam | | Dr. Ansari surrenders, granted bail | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 15- Dr. Amjad Abas Ansari, allegedly involved in multi-crore New Jammu scam, after surrendering before the Court was released on bail. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu had earlier issued bailable arrest warrants against the alleged accused. After hearing Advocate OP Sharma appearing for the applicant and senior Prosecuting Officer Amit Goel for the Crime Branch, the Special Judge Anticorruption JR Kotwal observed that the investigation of the case has already been completed and charge-sheet filed in this Court, so prosecution has no objection if the applicant accused is admitted to bail. The Special Judge further observed that no good ground for refusal of bail has either been alleged or found on consideration of the record of the case. Accused is therefore, admitted to bail and is directed to furnish personal bond to the tune of Rs 50,000 along with surety in the like amount. In default he be kept in the judicial custody, the court ordered. It is worthwhile to mention here the Crime Branch had presented challan in the multi-crore New Jammu Scam u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 r/w sections 420/467/468/471/120-B RPC which was registered in the year 1998 with P/S Trikuta Nagar Jammu against Jayant Bhuta, Madan Lal Kalra and Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari, the then Minister for Housing Urban Development presently MLA PDP, Dr. Amjad Abas Ansari and D Murlidar.
