| JKNPP to campaign on ‘global warming, ‘no to drugs’ | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan15- The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has decided to include the issue of ‘Global Warming’ and ‘Say No to Drugs’, in its membership drive campaign along with other political issues including reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, setting up Delimitation Commission, equitable development of all the three regions, tackling unemployment, rejection of Justice Sageer Ahmed report, compensation to drought affected areas and regular ration supply to the people of state. Addressing a press conference here today, NPP state president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the issues of Global Warming and Drug abuse have caught the attention of the world but state government has failed to come up with any comprehensive plan to tackle both these problems. He said that Panthers Party is the only party which has launched its membership drive in the year 2010 with the two most burning issues affecting the state and have set a target of 25 lakh members in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir. “This message of impact of Global Warming on the economy and ecology of the state and Drug abuse among the younger generation would be carried to each and every corner of the state and we hope that the people would understand its urgency,” said Mankotia adding, “the global warming has adversely affected the environment and drought, unscheduled rains, unexpected change in the normal temperature during summers and winters are some of the bad effects.”
