| Special sanitation drive | | |

In view of coming festivals and control of Dengue menace, a meeting of general function standing committee was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Manmohan Singh. In which some important decisions were taken which include that the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) shall launch a special sanitation drive in the Old City on 10th of October, at 8 a.m. the Old City has been divided into six zones in which over 200 (SKC) ‘Sofia Karam Chare’s will be pressed into service under the direct under the direct supervision of Health Officer along with his tam who will personally monitor the entire operation.
Both Mayor and Deputy Maryor shall flag off the drive from two locations i.e opposite Raghunath Temple and Mubarik Mandi Complex and all concerned councilors have been asked to remain present on the occasion who shall personally supervise this extensive drive in their respective wards. Those who attended this meeting include Dharamveer Singh Jamwal deputy Mayor, Vijay Malhotra Chairman Public Health & sanitation standing committee and members.
