| Two killed as truck falls into nullah | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 16: A truck today fell into a nullah at Hingad near Ramsoo on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway as a result of which its driver and conductor were killed instantly, while another man sitting in the vehicle survived with critical injuries.
The ill-fated truck (JK05B/2762) was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar.
Police sources said the truck skidded off the road and fell into the nullah when its driver Abdul Hamid Dar failed to negotiate a sharp curve.
Dar, who hailed from Doroo, and conductor Nazir Ahmad of Sopore were killed on the spot, while Bilal Ahmad, who was travelling with them, sustained serious injuries.
Bilal was undergoing treatment in the Ramsoo hospital. Sources said the bodies of the dead were sent their homes for last rites. |
