| Bhalla dedicates Rs. 3.5 crore tube well to Channi Himmat residents | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 17: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla on Sunday dedicated seven lakh gallon capacity tube well at Jamwal Residency in Channi Himmat, coming up at a cost of Rs. 3.5 crore by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA). Chief Engineer, PHE, Dalip Bakshi, Superintendent Engineer, PHE, Mr. A. K. Kapoor, Corporator Sainik Colony, Mr. Jai Singh and other senior officers of PWD, PHE and UEED accompanied the Minister. Addressing huge gathering after inaugurating the tube well at Channi Himmat, Mr. Bhalla said that with commissioning, the drinking water scarcity in Parveen Nagar, Jamwal Residency, Channi Himmat, Jawahar Nagar and adjoining areas will be solved in large extent. He said that coalition Government was committed to provide all civic amenities to people of three regions of the State including power, health, drinking water, education, road connectivity and drainage system. Responding to the locals demands, the Minister asked the concerned agency to start the repair and renovation work of lanes and drains at Bazigar Basti and Kaccha Talab in Bahu Fort, Upper Gaddigarh, Azad Nagar, Sant Nagar and Preet Nagar for which the Government has sanctioned Rs. 15 lakh. He said that Government has also approved Rs. 13 lakh for construction of surface deep drain at Upper Gaddigarh and Azad Nagar. He asked the executing agency to immediately start the works by using quality material. He said that any laxity on material would not be tolerated. To improve the power scenario in Trikuta Nagar extension near, Mr. Bhalla said that Government has sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh for installation of 250 KVA transformer and other allied works. At Rajiv Nagar, the Minister started the work for laying of water supply pipes is being completed at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh. He also inaugurated 30000 gallon capacity water reservoir there.
