| Accolades for BGSBU VC | | Soz, Ministers visit campus | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 17-Former Union Minister and MP, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz today said that with the opening up of centuries old Mughal road, Rajouri and Poonch districts will be directly connected with Kashmir Valley as well as Jammu region thus benefiting the people of both the regions especially student community from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU). Prof. Soz was addressing valedictory function of two batches of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme for artisans in Chikri Woodcraft sponsored by Union Ministry of Textiles at BGSBU. Noting the popularity of BGSBU among Kashmiri students, he expressed hope that the opening of Mughal road will further provide easy access to the BGSBU for the students of Valley. Lauding the University Vice Chancellor Masud Chaudhary’s role in organizing efficiently the programme, Prof. Soz said that this is a novel experiment of blending the formal education programmes with vocational trainings through various projects with Central Governments financial assistance. Prof. Soz exhorted upon the University authorities to launch similar training programmes including the revival of world famous Khatambund craft unique to Kashmir in other parts of the State. Former Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib, Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister of State for Power, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan, Legislators Mrs. Indu Pawar, Mr. G.A. Mir, Mr. Ravinder Sharma, Vice-Chancellor BGSBU, Mr. Masood Choudhery, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mr. J.P. Singh, SSP, Rajouri, Mr. Shafqat Watali, Deen Academic Affairs BGSBU, Prof. A.K. Koul were present on the occasion. Former, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Managat Ram Sharma and Minister for Medical Education, Mr. R.S. Chib were all praise for the milestones achieved by the University in such a short duration and promised all possible support in the making of this university.
