| Saroori claims proposed Chhatrro-Vailoo road best thing to have happened in J&K | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 17: Expressing his desire to collaborate with J&K Bank in construction of more roads, tunnels and bridges in the state, Minister for Roads and Buildings Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has said that Chatroo-Vialoo road will be the shortest route to connect Shri Amar Nath shrine with the entire country and will also pave way for pilgrims of Kashmir Valley to visit Shrines of sufi saints in Kishtwar. In a statement issued here, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has said that his department desire to collaborate with J&K Bank in some more projects and Chatroo-Vailoo tunnel is being given to the Bank on experimental basis. He said that he was striving hard for the last 6 years for grant of funds to the construction of this tunnel and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has realized the dream of the lakhs of people living in Chenab Valley region by approving Rs 400 crore for this tunnel. He added that former Chief Minister and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has also played his important role in getting released huge funds from New Delhi for the development of the state. Terming Batote-Kishtwar-Chatroo-Vialoo-Anantnag road as shortest route to connect Shri Amar Nath shrine with the whole world, Saroori said that once the road will be constructed, all the devotees of Shri Amar Nath shrine will prefer to travel on this road. He said that it will take about 8 hours from Jammu to reach Pahalgam via this road in comparison of 13 hours journey via Jawahar tunnel. He added that the road is also sinking and sliding free zone and there will be no tension of the traffic jams. Minister said that the road will also pave way for people of Kashmir valley to visit shrines of Hazrat Shah Farid-ud-Din and Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din at Kishtwar. Minister said that either it is Jammu, Srinagar or Ladakh, coalition government is treating all regions equally and with the guidance of dynamic Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, a new era of development has been started in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Appreciating the efforts of New Delhi, Saroori said that Centre is providing surplus funds for the development of this state and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are serious to development every nook and corner of this trouble torn state. He said that all the Centre schemes are being implemented in this scheme first time in full swing and the state will turn into most developed state in near future.
