| Defeat divisive politics: Begum Khalida | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 17: Awami National Conference (ANC) President Begum Khalida Shah has stressed that the unity of state is important for achieving the goal of peace. She ridiculed approach of various politicians who reap upon the divisive policies and politics in the state. Addressing a convention of party works of Jammu region in Jammu on Sunday, Begum said that people in Kashmir are being treated as animals because of power lust as whosoever comes to power least cares about the welfare of them. She said people are being misled by preaching them that future is not secure with India and similarly people of Ladakh are being told that they have to become a part of China. She said menace of unemployment, water and electricity scarcity has made life difficult in Jammu region. Begum urged upon workers of her party to stand united against these vested elements and fight for the unity of state besides take lead to spread the agenda of Intra Kashmir by seeking views of all walks of life across the state to formulate a everlasting and amicable peace proposal. On the occasion Ghulam Qadir wani joined the party fold along with his hundreds of supporters. Working President Muzaffar Hussain Shah while addressing gathering expressed concern over the prevailing situation of ignorance. He mentioned that even after a cabinet minister marks documents to concerned officers who deny categorically acting on the orders given to him. He said people have lost faith in system. Remembering transparent delivering system during his father’s tenure, Shah said people still remember Ghulam Mohmmad Shah for his nature of work and development across all the regions of state. He urged upon the workers to reunite and work dedicatedly for the better interests of common people. Other senior leaders of the region also spoke on the occasion.
