| Rampaul meets Omar: Discuss problems of SC/OBC’s. | | | Early Times Report

Scheduled Castes/Other Backward Classes’ (SC/OBC) cell of National Conference (NC) has demanded enactment of Scheduled Caste Advisory Board by the act of state legislature and according permanent status to it.
The demand was raised by a delegation of NC’s SC/OBC cell led by former Minister Ram Paul during its meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The deputation also demanded creation of scheduled caste and schedule tribes’ commission besides policy to be framed for promotions and transfers of SC/OBC and ST officers, enhancement of pre-matriculation and post-matriculation scholarships to meritorious students belonging to SC, ST and OBC communities, establishment of housing colony, shops and residential plots in, implementation of reservation rules in Rehbar-e-Taleem and contractual appointments, backlog vacancies of schedule caste, reservation in favour of OBC’s as per Mandal Commission recommendations, representation for SC/ST in legislature (upper house),constitution of ministry for SC/ST/OBC.
A memorandum pertaining to overall development and welfare of the SC/OBC people of the state was also submitted by the delegation.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing and assured delegation that their demands will be readdressed.
