PDP for strengthen the regional federalism: Mehbooba

The PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on her maiden visit to Kathua, while addressing at mammoth gathering said self rule in the state means equal development of all the three regions. In simple language it is ‘Apne Log Apna Raj’. She said.
She said, from the beginning PDP believes in dialogue, and never encourage bullet policy. She ridiculated those persons who have launched a campaign against self rule in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. She said, PDP leadership had started not only discussing but is explaining the idea of self rule to the people at public rallies and hold number of discussion on it. In the rally she forcibly said,” we will not deviate from our stand on self –rule. The more the idea is criticized by our foes the more will be the validity of self rule for discussion and debase. She said PDP strongly blame in development of all the regions. People have suffered a lot, they now want peace and stability in the state and for this self rule is the only solution.
Earlier, PDP was considered a party of militants, but I am happy to know people of Jammu region are getting closer to PDP day by day. She said by giving self rile to Jammu and Kashmir the PDP wants to strengthen the regional federalism and states integration with India. She said, what the successive National Conference governments failed to give to people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions the PDP wanted to ensure growth of genuine federalism.
She said the PDP was opposed to the trifurcation of the state which was an integral part of India and the implementation of self-rule will silence those, including BJP that demands separate state hood for Jammu. On PDPs flag colour she said that even in our tricolour (National Flag) one third of its portion is green. Even Janta Dal which is national party having a green colour flag but no objection, she added. She praises the leadership of A B Vajpayee who extended the hand of friendship towards Pakistan from the soil of Kashmir, which is now being continued by the leadership of UPA govt at the centre.
The finance minister Tariq Hamid Qarra said that, “we will not deviate from our stand on self-rule. The more the idea is criticized by our political foes the more will be the validity of self-rule for debate and discussion. Forest minister Qazi AFzal said, that PDP leadership has started not only discussing but also explaining the idea of self rule to the people at public rallies and conventions and against this the National Conference President Omar Abdullah went to Pakistan for discussing restoration of greater Autonomy with President Gen Mussharraf without taking people of Jammu and Kashmir in confidence. While addressing the gathering said that PDP will try to redress the problems of the local population and assured them that in future also they will do every thing possible they can.
Others who were present on the occasion include Shanti Devi MLA, Ramesh Mottan Gen Secy, Surjit Kour, Gurprasad Verma Dist President PDP Kathua, Surinder Singh Vinod Gupta, Jagbir Singh, Rajesh Bhat and others.
