JAMMU, January 17: Likewise last year, Sahyog Committee Industrial Area Bari Brahmana has decided to conduct two-day volleyball tournament on Republic Day at Peer Chatala Mini Stadium, Bari Brahmana, near here.
Over ten teams representing different clubs of rural areas and departments as also defence forces are expected to participate in this knock-out event.
This was stated by the secretary of the Sahyog Committee, Rakesh Singh speaking to the press today.
The competition shall be declared open by the SDPO Bari Brahmana, Munish Anand with the flag hosting ceremony at the stadium.
“In the valedictory function of this two-day tournament, Minister for Industries, Surjit Singh Slathia has consented to be the chief guest, who shall be giving away prizes to the winners and runners-up teams,” informed president of the Committee, Ghulam Hazrat Ali.
Prominent among those present were Girdhari Lal Sharma, Bhagwan Dass, Uttam Sharma, Rashpal Chand, Anwar Ali and Pt. Mulkh Raj.
