| Omar repeating blunders of previous NC regimes: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 19 Making a scathing attack on the ruling dispensation, opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today alleged that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led coalition government is repeating the blunders which were committed by the previous National Conference regime from 1996 to 2002. Addressing a function to welcome a large number of youth, who joined PDP, Bashir Ashad, president of Youth Wing PDP exhorted the party workers to expose failures of coalition regime and launch a war against the “anti-poor” government. Ashad alleged that thte present dispensation was one of the most “corrupt” and “anti-people” regime of the State. “One year performance of this regime reflects that this government is only concerned about media publicity,” he pointed and reminded that all promised made by the National Conference in the assembly election remained only on papers. The PDP youth wing leader pointed out that during the last one year the National Conference led regime has not taken even a single step for mitigating miseries of the common masses. “What to say of solving problems of the people this regime has further compounding woes of the people due to its wrong policies,” he observed. He especially mentioned that the much publicized employment package announced by the government ultimately proved as cruel joke with the educated unemployed youth. Cautioning people against “gimmicks” of ruling National Conference, he said that government has been trying to hoodwink the people by raking up some emotive issues. He further alleged that the National Conference led coalition regime has totally failed to solve basic problems of the common masses. Ashad pointed that common masses have been facing hardship due to galloping prices of essential commodities but the state government is not serious on taking some steps in this regard. Wasim Wari, Abdul Qadir, Ashu Kumar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Asharaf Ahmed, Basharat Habib, Anjuman Maijabana and other prominent student and youth leaders joined PDP.
