| Poswal deplores step motherly treatment with drought hit rural areas | | | Early Times Report Jammu, January 19 Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha (ABGMS) J&K chapter has alleged that the state government has failed to provide any relief material to several rural areas severely affected by drought. In a meeting of the Sabha, which was presided over by Eshfaq-Ur-Rahman Poswal here today, though members appreciated the gesture of government to provide relief in the form of free ration for three months to the drought sufferers in the state but they pointed out that numerous pockets (rural areas) severely hit by drought have escaped the notice of the administration, which is highly deplorable. As such the rural population of Jammu as well as Jammu divisions has become victim of injustice, they alleged. The Sabha members authorized Poswal to take up this issue with the concerned authorities to get redressed the genuine grievances of the poor villagers. Speaking on the occasion, Poswal said that an agitation would be launched to get relief material for their families as also feed and fodder for their live stock apart from health care facilities. He advised the ABGMS workers of rural areas to protest the indifferent attitude of the government in a peaceful manner.
