| Khajuria demands cancellation of selection list | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 20
Former state president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and MLA Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria today, alleging discriminating with Jammuites at the hands of coalition government, demanded cancellation of selection list released by the State Service Recruitment Board. Talking to media persons here today, Khajuria stressed for cancellation of the above said selection list of State Cadre Drivers recently released by Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board on January 17, 2010. ‘It has once again become clear that the present NC-Congress coalition in the state is following the path of previous government and giving preferential treatment to the members of a particular faith and particular region, BJP MLA said. ‘The list virtually has exposed the discriminating attitude of the coalition Govt towards Jammu as the selection list of State Cadre posts of Drivers in which 16 candidates all hailing from a particular community and region have been selected in Open category while all the 3 candidates selected under RBA category to witness the same, he alleged and said, ‘This is the latest example of the discrimination with other communities in the state’. Khajuria reminded the state Chief Minister that Jammu and Kashmir does not mean Kashmir only. The state has Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions with population of not only a particular community. BJP MLA Khajuria while demanding cancellation of the said list, asked the Ministers and MLAs from Jammu region to break their silence and clear their stand on this latest discrimination. He also demanded immediate disbanding of J&K Service Selection Board.
