| No leniency should be shown to militants | | VHP for early execution of Guru’s death sentence | | JAMMU OCT-08- ‘Advocating for immediate execution of the death sentence awarded by the Supreme Court to Afzal Guru, the mastermind behind 2001 Parliament attack, Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) state unit has warned that those pleading for clemency would not be spared and they should be ready for the consequences. The Parishad in its half yearly provincial meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Vinayak Rao, a central senior office bearer, discussed in detail the working of the organization and its future plans. The meeting, which was attended, by nearly 200 office bearers and workers lasted for full day. The Parishad President Dr Ramakant Dubey while expressing his views on the on going controversy of Afzal Guru’s hanging, regretted that entire populace of Kashmir Valley along with its public representatives including Chief Minister have only one point agenda to save this criminal, responsible for militant’s attack on Parliament.’They were least worried for the bereaved families of those killed while defending it during that attack’, he added. Dubey further said that President being the constitutional head of the country should not have acted in the manner he did in the instant case adding that on one hand he received most warmly the family members of a condemned criminal while on the other gives no time to talk to the families of those brave soldiers who altered their lives to safeguard the honour and integrity of the country. ‘This total irrelevant behavior from a person of his stature is certainly condemnable’, he maintained. The Parishad President said that by now, the President should have turned down the mercy petition and directed the concerned agency for stern action against all those who are out crying for Guru’s pardon. Prabu Dayal Vice President, Santosh Nath Sharma Peresident Jammu Mahanagar, Hem Raj Khajuria Secretary, Jagdesh Raj General Sercretary, J L Drabu Divisional Head, Sushil Sudan Bajrang Dal Convenor, Nand Kishore Sharma Co-Convenor, Prabat Singh Jammu District Present, Asha Handa Matri Shakti Convenor and Sushma Durga Vehaini Convenor also attended the meeting.
