| Excise Department denies misbehaving with VO team | | |

A spokesman of the Excise Department today denied a report published in some local newspapers that the Vigilance team which conducted raids at Lakhanpur Toll Post yesterday was misbehaved and confined in a room for some time by a group of transporters.
The spokesman said the report is factually incorrect and far from truth and maintained that the checking party conducted the raids in a transparent manner following complaints of irregularities by the trucks, seized relevant records and recorded statement of many truckers. There was no resistance from the truckers and the question of misbehaving with the raiding team by the transporters does not arise, the spokesman added..
