| Bhim demands PC’s resignation on harassment to J&K pre-paid users | | | Early Times Report Jammu Jan 21 Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman, JKNPP and Member, National Integration Council said that Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram should resign as minister from the Union Cabinet accepting the moral and legal responsibility for causing harassment and intimidation to people in Jammu and Kashmir by banning their pre-paid mobile phones since November 1 last. According to party statement Prof. Bhim Singh the Panthers Party has taken clear stand that the ban on the pre-paid mobile phones in J&K is unconstitutional, malafide, improper, illegal and discriminatory against four million pre-paid mobile subscribers. The withdrawal of the ban by the government proves that the Home Minister was utterly wrong and the stand taken by him was against the national interests. Prof. Bhim Singh has demanded resignation of the Home Minister and compensation to 38 lacs pre-paid mobile subscribers in J&K and enquiry into the background that led to impose such a discriminatory ban to benefit the mobile phone service providers in J&K who have already raised more than Rs.28 crores from the subscribers in the name of conversion to post paid.
