| NZIEA hold strike, demands settlement of wage revision | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: The north zone insurance employees association (NZIEA) affiliated to all India Insurance employees association today went for a strike to press its demand for immediate settlement of wage revision. The strike was held all over the country including in J&K State also. Leaders of association, Ali Mohd Tantray, HU Koul and Pawan Gupta said, no seriousness has been shown neither by LIC management central government to settle the wage revision of the employees. They said all India insurance employees association in its demand submitted in September 2007 demanded 40% of wages but LIC management offered 17.5% only that too with some conditions. Leaders said that demand of 40% wage rise is quite logical keeping in view the performance and capacity of LIC and as such this demand must be accepted. Speaking on the occasion joint secretary Ramesh Chand warned the LIC management to come up with new offers as per expectation of employees, otherwise employees struggle will intensity in the coming days while Rajesh Gupta, vice president talked about the achievement and tremendous performance of LIC since nationalization of insurance business in 1956 and also warned the LIC since nationalization of insurance business in 1956 and also warned the central government against insurance amendment laws, disinvestment in insurance sector. Among others who took part in strike were Mohan Lal Kathua, Chaman Lal at Samba, Jagdish Raj at RS Pura, SC Dogra at Udhampur, Ram Raj at Doda, Khaliq Hussain at Rajouri, Surinder at Poonch. Others who spoke on the occasion were SK Bhat, Raj Kumar, Dinesh Sharma, Vikram Singh, Kishore Lal, Naveen Kohli, Neelam Sharma, Rekha Rani, Veena Koul, Ritu Sambyal and Reva Kohli.
