| Court frames charges against then Dy Director Employment | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 21- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu JR Kotwal framed corruption charges against one Rashid Shah then Deputy Director Employment Kathua u/s 5(2) r/w section 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 and 420 RPC.
After hearing senior Prosecuting Officer Anil Gandotra for the Crime Branch and Advocate JA Kazmi appearing for the accused, the Special Judge observed that on perusal of the record of the case, Court finds sufficient reason to presume that the accused has committed offence punishable u/s 5(2) r/w section 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 and 420 RPC and therefore holds that there is prima-facie case against him and framed charges against the accused with the direction to the prosecution to present evidence and fixed calendar for the hearing.
According to the case the alleged accused while posted as Deputy Director Employment Kathua in 2000-01, in abuse of his official position, accepted Rs 25000 from Madan Lal, Rs 15000 from Romesh Kumar, Rs 10,000 from Vijay Kumar and Rs 15000 each from Sat Pal, Satya Parkash and one Sham Parkash, under a promise of arranging Government jobs for them which he could not provide. A case was registered by the Crime Branch against the said accused and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu. JNF
