| Pottery Workshop at Jd Institute | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21- A fortnight long pottery workshop started at Jd Institute of Fashion Technology, Jammu Centre here on Thursday. Bishamber Mehta, a well known name in the field of art and sculpture in Jammu, will be the key resource person of the workshop. The workshop will have two phases. In the first phase, the students would design and make hand made pots in the Institute premises from their own creative ideas and in the second phase, they would go to fire these pots in the kiln to give them a final touch with colours
Speaking on the a occasion, Mehta said that terracotta has a rich historical importance in Jammu but now it is a dying art and so it is of great importance that such workshops bring the youth of today in touch with this magnificent art. He was very happy to see the enthusiasm of jd Jammu students towards putting up their creative ideas in reality by designing beautiful pieces. Maansi Gupta, centre director said, that it is an honour that jd is associating with an artist of such an immense caliber and added that the pots made during the workshop would be put on jd Jammu- 2010 annual exhibition.
