| PAC for achieving full targets in welfare schemes | | |
Early Times Report Jammu Jan 22: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly called upon the officers of Rural Development Department to work with missionary zeal and utilize funds judiciously on ground. The Committee asked them to achieve cent percent targets in all welfare schemes, including Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) launched by the State and Central Governments for the benefit of the people especially for poor of the rural areas. The Committee met today under the Chairmanship of MLA Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan to examine the audit paras contained in CAG’s Report for the year 2006-07 pertaining to Rural Development Department. The Committee discussed threadbare various audit paras and asked the concerned to come up with detailed action taken report by January 28th, 2010 so that decision would be taken regarding audit paras. The Committee also discussed utilization of funds and implementation of the schemes under Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste (ST/SC) Schemes. Legislators, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Dr. Shafi Ahmed Wani, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Mr. Jagdish Raj Spolia, Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil and Mr. Murtaza Ahmed Khan gave their valuable suggestions during their discussions. Commissioner/Secretary, Rural Development Department, Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, Director Rural Development Department, Jammu/Kashmir, Director Sanitation, representative of J&K Accountant General office and other concerned seniors officers attended the meeting.
