| Chib, Malik attend national conference of Labour Ministers in Delhi | | | Early Times Report New Delhi, Jan 22: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik and Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Technical and Medical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib attended All India State Labour Minister’s Conference here on Friday at Vigyan Bhawan. The conference was chaired by the The Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge. During the deliberation in the Conference, the Minister for Labour and Employment, Mr. A. G. Malik focused on various issues pertaining to the organized and un-organized sectors of labour employment. He threw light on the Labour Act for the unorganized workers and informed the participants that the State Government was very particular about the education the unorganized labour folk. For this purpose, he said specific measures have been taken that include, special schools being run by the Labour Department in Udhampur and Srinagar. The Minister said that the government was considering expansion of the area of coverage of Employee’s Insurance Schemes (EIS) and the Rashtriya Sawasth Beema Yojana (RSBY). He further said that the Government was well aware about the migration of local labour to other parts of the country and due consideration was being given to solve the problems faced to them. The Minister for Technical Education Minister, Mr. R. S. Chib thanked Centre for agreeing to provide all logistic support for imparting skill training to 8,000 youth outside the J&K State in the courses and trades, which are in demand nationally and internationally. He said that in order to make the skill development competitive and demand driven, a significant input has to be provided for strengthening of the required infrastructure base in the State.
