| Dwivedi reviews facilities in migrant camps | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 22: As a follow-up action of the recent visit of Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Mubarak Gul to Migrant Purkhoo camp and for the redressal of the problems putforth during the visit, the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. M. K. Dwivedi convened a meeting of officers of concerned departments here today. In the meeting, the DC directed the CA & PD department to ensure proper supply of the ration and LPG cylinder to the migrant areas especially Purkhoo camp and further directed that all the ration dealers should display the rate list, schedule of opening of their shops as well as the quantity of ration available with them. Mr. Dwivedi directed Education department to review functioning of all the migrant schools as during his visit to Higher Secondary School Paloura and Purkhoo with Advisor to Chief Minister, he found that most of window panes of the class room were broken. He instructed for immediate repair of window panes, maintenance of laboratory and ensuring of sufficient staff in these schools. PDD department was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply to the migrant camps during the ensuing Shivratri festival besides installing transformer wherever required. He also asked the Municipal Corporation to ensure that the ban on polythene bags is implemented in letter and spirit. Among others officers from various departments including CA&PD, Municipal Corporation, PDD and Education were present in the meeting.
