| Strengthen J&K coalition,Chavan tells Congressmen | | | Early Times Report Vijaypur, Jan 22: The Congress General Secretary and Union Minister Prithviraj Chavan has called upon the party cadres to strengthen its coalition government with National Conference and peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a public meeting here today along with PCC President Prof Saifuddin Soz, Chavan said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi are personally associated with the policy making and development of Jammu and Kashmir. The rally was organized to take into party fold former Minister and PDP leader Manjeet Singh. Chavan said that Congress under the leadership of PCC Chief Prof. Saifuddin Soz (MP) is all out to strengthen the National Conference-Congress coalition in order to come up to the expectations of the people and to create an atmosphere of peace and overall development. He said S. Manjit Singh has joined a big party which has a long history of service to the people of the country. On price rise, Mr. Chavan said that central government is taking all possible measures to check the price rise and things would improve shortly. On ceasefire violations by Pakistan, the Union Minister said that government was engaged with the neighbouring country. PCC President Prof. Saifuddin Soz thanked the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson & AICC President Smt. Sonia Gandhi for the huge financial support to the state for its all round development. He said that the Congress party is committed to strengthen the coalition so that development process receives a fillip and peoples needs are fulfilled. He asserted that Congress is a party of all sections and regions and committed for development of backward and far-flung areas of the state.
