Basic facilities to people are key priorities: Manohar

KATHUA, JAN 23: Asserting that the Coalition Government was committed for all round and uniform development of all the three regions of the State, Minister of State for Cooperative, Stationary and Elections, Dr. Manohar Lal today said that education, road connectivity, drinking water, power supply and provisions for adequate essential commodities for all, tops its priority sectors.
Dr Manohar Lal was addressing students, staff and prominent citizens at a function organized by Bright Career Modern Academy Kutlehar (Lakhanpur) in connection with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chander Bose at Lakhanpur.
MLC Mr. Subash Gupta, besides senior officers of various departments were also present on the occasion.
The students of the school presented cultural items and skits depicting patriotic themes .
The Minister threw light on the life of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose and hailed the school management for organizing such type of functions. The Minister described Neta Ji a great hero of freedom struggle of India as said that he sacrifice his life for the country. The Minister said that Neta Ji gave a new vision to the youth of the country.
The Minister said that teachers can play a vital role in developing character and personality of the students and through their teachings can make the good citizens, good leaders and officers.
He appealed to the people, particularly students to desist from bad habits as these can spoil their life. He asked the students to take active part in sports and extracurricular activities.
The Minister said that the Government was giving top priority to education sector and is committed for all round and uniform development of all the three regions of the State. Dr. Manohar Lal said that education, road connectivity, drinking water, power supply and supply of essential commodities are priority sectors for the coalition Government.
The Minister said that 42 colleges have been opened in the State and 19 more colleges will be opened in the state in the near future and Kathua district will get one more college. The Minister sought the help of the people in the development process.
MLC Subash Gupta also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the life of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose. He thanked the school management for organizing such type of function.
Later the principal of the school presented vote of thanks.
