| Vyas reviews ERA projects in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, JAN 23: Principal Secretary to Government, Planning & Development Department, Mr. B.B. Vyas, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, Economic Reconstruction Agency, J&K Government, visited District Udhampur on Saturday to monitor and review the progress on the ERA projects. He was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan, Chief Engineer, ERA, and other officers of JKPCC, ERA, Revenue and line departments. During the visit, Mr. Vyas, inspected the two major roads, 32 Kms Chenani-Sudhmahadev road upto Mantalai being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 27.75 crores and 27.73 Kms Udhampur-Ramnagar road being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 37.48 crores. Vyas exhorted the officers to resolve all the bottle necks and accelerate the pace of work so that these projects are completed within the targeted time. The District Dev. Commissioner, Udhampur informed that most of the issues pertaining to the Land Acquisition Cases have been resolved and the land handed over to the Economy Reconstruction Agency for execution of the work. The pace of the execution on various bridges being constructed by the ERA, JKPCC on these projects was also reviewed. JKPCC officers were directed to accelerate the pace of work on the bridges earmarked for execution by the Corporation. The DDC was asked to conduct periodical reviews preferably every fortnightly and co-ordinate with line departments and furnish progress report to the Chief Executive Officer, ERA. Vyas also took a review of various schemes being executed under different sectors in the District under District and State Sector and centrally sponsored schemes. The DDC, Udhampur gave a presentation on the achievements registered in the District to the Principal Secretary, Planning & Development Department and intimated that so far 63 percent of the financial achievements have been registered in the district against the availability of funds. He also informed that remaining 37 percent shall be achieved in full before by March. Vyas exhorted the officers to ensure that physical progress commensurate with the financial achievements and the schemes targeted for completion during the current plan year be completed well in time. He stressed the need for physical verification of the on goings works to ensure creation of quality assets. He was also apprised about the level of progress on various major projects under different engineering and non-Engineering sectors taken up during the current financial year. Mr. Vyas asked the DDC to hold regular review meetings so that the targets are achieved well in time.
