| Revise JMC electoral rolls: Satish | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 23: Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Satish Kumar Sharma has shot off a letter to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K seeking revision of Municipal Corporation electoral rolls here. As per the press statement issued here today, the Chairman said that 32 extended wards which includes adjoining rural area of Jammu Urban, were incorporated in the Corporation and for which elected were held in 2005. “After the last elections to the Corporation, a sizeable population has settled in these areas and the Corporation is providing basic civic amenities to these extended areas as well as the people living there,” Satish said. The Chairman demanded that their names should be included in the electoral rolls as provided in the Act. “As the names of all these people who got settled does not stands included in the voter lists of Assembly or Parliamentary elections since they belong to various districts and tehsils of Jammu region, they want their names to be included in the electoral rolls,” he said.
