| Leh, Kargil Councilors hail regularization of CD blocks | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 24: A deputation of Executive Councilors of Leh and Kargil districts today called on the Minister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar and appreciated the decision regarding regularization of CD blocks. It is pertinent to mention that the Government has recently regularized 24 CD blocks, six of which are from the districts of Leh and Kargil including Zanskar, Rahimthanag, Kharu, Chuchot, Saspol and Panamik. The deputation expressed hope that the recent decision of the Government to regularize 24 CD blocks across the State would further accelerate the developmental process initiated by the Government in rural, far flung and border areas. The Minister while interacting with the deputationists said that the Government is well aware of the problems being faced by the people living in remote areas and various schemes have been initiated so that the economic and infrastructural development of these areas is accelerated. He said that Government has also undertaken the an ambitious programme to construct Rural Haats in rural and remote areas for providing marketing facilities to the rural artisans, which would will contribute to their economical upliftment. Sagar informed the deputationists that special packages and schemes have been launched for the development of the hilly and border areas of the State including flagship schemes like BADP, NREGA etc. He further said that Government will ensure that the schemes are properly implemented and benefits percolate to the people at the ground level.
