| Inspector attached, three licenses cancelled | | Akhoon rains food depots | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 24: Following some complaints from the people of Vijaypur and Talab Tillo areas regarding mismanagement in the supply of ration, The Minister for CAPD and Transport, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon today paid a surprise visit to various sale out lets in the areas .He checked the quality and quantity of food grains there and found that the complaints received from the people regarding distribution of food grains to the rationees are correct. The Minister issued on the spot instructions to concerned authorities for cancellation of dealership Licenses of Mr. Janak Raj ration Depot holder Patti, Vijaypur and Mr. Aman dealer No. 397 Anand Nagar Talab Tillo. He also directed for cancelation of licenses of two kerosene oil depot holders of Patti. Taking serious note of negligence for not inspecting sale outlets in his jurisdiction, the Minister ordered immediate attachment of food inspector Talab Tillo Area, Mr. Hari Singh with the Directorate of CAPD. He also instructed for making alternate arrangement for smooth functioning of the Departmental works in the area.
Interacting with the people during his tour, the Minister said that Government is committed to provide adequate supply of quality food grains to the consumers, adding that various initiatives have been taken for streamlining the ration distribution and stocking system across the state. He said every ration holder would now get his ration before 25th of every month from his sale out let. He said that it has been made mandatory that every store keeper should ensure to receive stocking of food grains in the first week of the month and they were directed to maintain the record and accounts registers properly. The Minister asked the people to share their responsibility while getting food grains from the sale out lets adding that they should ensure, that they are getting ration as per scale and prices fixed by the Government. He cautioned that any dealer found in possession of ration cards of rationees would be punished. He asked the people to register their complaints if any against dealers directly to his office or grievance cell of CAPD so that the action can be initiated against erring dealers. The Minister instructed the ration dealers to work with honesty while. He also stressed for maintaining counter foils properly. The Minister was accompanied by Director CAPD Jammu Mr. Hemant Kumar and other senior officers of the Department.
