| Sham for promoting moral values | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JANUARY 24- The Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr. Sham Lal Sharma has called upon the NGO’s and religios organizations to contribute in bringing reforms in the Society . He said need of the hours was to promote moral values to remove evils prevailing in the society. The Minister was speaking at a function organization by “Mittrah Da Milan”, an NGO at Akhnoor here today. Member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma, intellectuals and prominent citizens of the town also attended the function. The Minister said that India is a multi religion and multi lingual country and has rich history of democracy. He called upon the people to contribute in cementing the age old tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood. He said we have to inculcate sense of responsibility, patriotism and discipline among the younger generation so that they could shoulder their responsibilities to make the country stronger. “Today the country is facing multiple problems and we to shoulder the responsibility to safeguard its integrity and sovereignty, the Minister added. Highlighting the achievement of Health department during the last one year, the Minister said that vacancies of doctors and Para Medicos have been filled up on fast track basis adding that transparency and accountability has been brought in the working of the Health Department.
Member Parliament, Mr. Maden Lal Sharam, while addressing the gathering highlighted the programmes and policies of the central and State Governments. He said the centre Government has provided liberal funds for speedy development of the State. He sought people’s cooperation in achieving 100% targets under various development sectors.
