| Massive road expansion plan underway: Saroori | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 24: Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. G. M. Saroori has said that all round development of the State is high on the agenda of coalition Government and a massive road expansion programme has been undertaken in nook and corner of the State to provide better road connectivity to the people. The Minister was speaking at a Prakash Utsav function held under the aegis of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha at Bishnah. The Minister said Guru Ravi Dass’s teachings helped people in creating a congenial atmosphere for removing the tentacles of castism which has no place in a developed society. Announcing that a plan for massive expansion of road network has been undertaken all over the State Mr. Saroori said that the Government plans to connect remotest areas with cities and major towns to usher in an era of development and prosperity in the State. Hailing Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for liberal funding of the road construction projects in the State, Mr. Saroori said the development schemes left unfinished during the tenure of former Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad will be completed under the dynamic leadership of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He also announced the Government’s commitment to the dream of a ‘Khushal Kashmir’ into a reality through massive road construction process. Among others present on the occasion included MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta and senior citizens and locals of Bishnah.
