Jammu, Jan 24: Appealing Gujjars to support Pahari cause, Chairman of J&K Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari has thanked people from all walks of life for extending compliments to him on his appointment as Vice Chairman of J&K State Pahari Advisory Board and Chairman of Forum.
In a statement issued here today, Bukhari said that he is not only thankful to Pahari community but also Gujjars, Bakerwals and people of all walks of life for greeting him on this occasion.
Bukhari said that he will leave no stone unturned to address the problems of the deprived Pahari community who have a unique culture of thousand years and they have more tribal nature than other tribal communities. He added that the only way of the development of this community is to grant them Scheduled Tribe status on the pattern of Gujjars and Bakerwals.
While thanking Gujjars and Bakerwals for showing their love to him, Bukhari said that Paharies are not going to snatch something from them but are just demanding their right from the Central Government.
